Did you know the average person has more than 6,000 thoughts a day?

How many hours a day do you think you spend engaging with negative thoughts or worries?

According to research, the average person has more than 6,000 thoughts a day. Many of these will be made up of anxious thoughts, negative self-talk, worry, and overthinking.

Whenever I meditate I realise just how many thoughts pass through my mind and how difficult it can be to push them away. Not all negative thoughts are bad, being alert is essential for survival, but many of these alerts and negative thoughts are not as useful as they once were when we were cave men.

Make the choice every day to choose your thoughts, replace unhelpful thoughts with helpful ones - there is so much freedom when you do this, both within in your mind and physically.

Worrying about what the future holds for me or what others think has always been one of my biggest struggles. When these intrusive thoughts appear in my mind - I try to notice them, and work to stop them.

We can identify these intrusive thoughts and label them as unhelpful or untrue. Once we take a step back and understand the thought for what it really is, we’re able to decide if we will engage with it or redirect that energy into something else, something more positive. Make the choice every day to choose your thoughts, replace unhelpful thoughts with helpful ones - there is so much freedom when you do this, both within in your mind and physically.

Peel away the layers of negative self-talk and self-doubt. Don’t let a thought or made-up scenario in your head take away from the life you want for yourself, the life you deserve.
